So I started a YouTube channel. It’s called StickFigureInternet and it does exactly what it says on the tin: networking explained with stick figures.

I’ve spent years writing about routing, switching, MPLS, all the good stuff. Words are grand, but some things are just easier to show. A packet going walkabout, a handshake, a routing loop eating itself — you can describe that in three paragraphs, or draw two stick figures and a few arrows and everyone gets it in ten seconds.

The plan is short, focused videos on the things beginners and intermediates actually get stuck on. Why your ping works but your traceroute looks mental. What a default gateway is really doing. The bits where the concept matters more than the config.

Why stick figures? One, I’m no artist. Two, if you can explain a thing with a stick figure and an arrow, you understand it — and so will the person watching.
