Disclaimer

I know what I am talking about alot of the time but not all the time. This blog is for my reference, for my study notes, a place for me to put my thoughts, rants, observations about the world I work in. Should you take something I post and screw up anything with it then it is not my fault. I don’t stand over anything I post.

I ALWAYS test things I post before deploying in a live network, not necessarily before I post it here. If you take a config sample from here and bring your network down then you’re probably in the wrong job. Always, always test before deployment.

I do make mistakes and if you notice any please be sure to point them out to me and I will rectify them. Sure that’s how we learn is it not but please don’t be a meanie about if i say something wrong here. I don’t have the time or the patience to listen to people with superiority complexes.

Vendors change things, something I may post may not be relevant in x months, bear that in mind. I also don’t control vendors so whatever you see from them take as gospel, not what I say.

    Hello Jeff,

I am really happy that someone makes a blog about ALU devices configuration. I decide to prepare to NRSII (I pass NRSI some times ago) and I will be reading your topic with pleasure.

    Regards,
    Lukas

    Hello Jeff,

Could you make some example configuration about uRPF loose mode and uRPF strict mode ? It will be very helpful. Kind Regards.
